KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES

Throughout the 12 modules of this course you will:

• Master key elements of narrative craft, including characterization, story and plot structure, point of view, dialogue, and description.
• Develop skills across multiple genres
• Analyze screenplays and provide coverage
• Practice the art of revision as a means to hone your voice as a writer.
• Each student will craft a feature length screenplay by the end of the program, as well as a video game, comic book and episode of tv for your portfolio.

This program allows you to study screenwriting at your own pace, accessing materials and completing assignments whenever it suits you, without a set schedule or live class sessions; essentially, you can learn the fundamentals of writing screenplays at your own speed and convenience, often with video lessons, interactive exercises, and feedback on your work. You will build your portfolio and advance your interests in not only screenwriting, but writing for video games, and writing for comic books and television.

Assignments are emailed for constructive feedback, and all resources for the course are provided.

Upon completion of all assignments, you will be sent information to obtain your certificate of completion documents. We also host both virtual and in person graduations. You will be sent the schedule and can attend one of your choosing.

About the Instructor:

Michelle Murray, a native Texan, is a screenwriter, novelist and author of children’s books. She is a combat Veteran of the United States Army. Her resume credits include tv, film, the stage and books, as well as a wealth of magazine articles. She holds an undergraduate degree in Entertainment Business and an MFA in Creative Writing, with an emphasis in Screenwriting.
